With new tools come new opportunities! In this edition I’ll share a common tool within most podcast distribution software that allows you to add audio to your episodes after they’re published!
Tool or Resource of the Week
The tool this week is the AIME feature by Captivate (who’s software I will be referencing for this example).
With this tool you will be able to insert and remove audio clips from all or a selection of your published and scheduled episodes all in one click. You can add a pre-roll clip that will play your selected audio before the episode starts and a post-roll clip that will play the audio at the end of your episode.
Unless specified during the draft phase, the automatic position for the pre and post-roll clips will be at the beginning and end of the episodes. When uploading new episodes in Captivate you can scrub through the audio and designate where the pre and post-roll content should be inserted. This will mark that episode with those positions for all future changes.
To then manage the dynamic content open the “Bulk Ad Editor” tab on the left. Here you can upload your content and select specific episodes. If you want the dynamic content to be applied to new episodes by default, that can be done in the podcast settings. You can see which episodes are processing and active in the main episodes view by looking at the new coloured symbols.
Why is this useful? Do you have a new mastermind group coming up? A book launch? A new course? A new lead magnet? A new exciting offer for your clients? Create the perfect audio advert for your use case and apply it to ALL of your published episodes at once with one click.
Do you have a sponsor? Once your agreement comes to an end you can pull their influence from your content easily. The ability to add a potential sponsor’s content to all episodes rather than just new episodes also give you some negotiating power. If you’re editing an episode by yourself and want to keep things simple, use this feature to insert your intro and outro for you, this won’t create the best transition but it’s an interesting and creative use of the feature.

Testimonial
“I have used Fynn Gentle to edit my podcast since it started and I can’t recommend him enough. Fynn always does an excellent job for me and the podcasts are always edited in super quick time each week. Thank you so much Fynn!” – Phil Anderson
Behind The Scenes
The weather is improving which means I’m able to be in the mountains more often. This week I visited Ben A’an. It’s got a great view over Loch Katrine, I’m scheming some water-sports soon. I like the look of wing foiling.

Conclusion
This is a very underused feature that many people have access to. I hope this has helped spark some ideas.
Thanks,
Fynn.
